New England Apple Pickin'!

To begin:

Well the weather is turning brisk here and it looks like it's going to be a beautiful fall. We had quite a bit of rain (due to the numerous hurricanes) to begin with but lately it's been lovely and sunny. So nice in fact that we decided to go out apple picking! We headed to Ipswhich, MA to the Russell Orchard -- where they had delectable apple cider donuts -- which although quite tasty, do fall short of the apple turnovers that were out at the orchard in Iowa City. We walked a long way out to the apple picking area and then feasted on MaCouns, Honey Crisps, Cortlands, Jonagold, and Gala. Tasty, tasty, tasty. And as always our miss Independent doesn't want to have slices of apple, she wants to hold it herself.

The little miss' vocabulary is growing every day, both signs and words. She's also learning all of her animal sounds. Our favourite: what she says a horse does -- she goes "clop, clop" -- clicking the roof of her mouth. Not a neigh, but so much cuter! She's also learning the trials and tribulations of eating with utensils -- the dogs have never been happier -- lots of falling food.

As the year winds on we just want to wish you all the very best and to say that we miss you all very, very much. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Christmas!

"Hi, Hi, Hi, Hi," to Miss M, too! What a sweetie. I got choked up watching the videos--we miss you guys so much. It has been crazy around here (too much to type, but hopefully we'll talk soon and stop playing one-sided phone tag). P sends lots of kisses your way!
Luv,
Ang
